Hey, today I'm going to show you how to make feather hair clips, which look like this:
Things you will need:
Hair pin/clip, beads (wooden, if possible, with a big hole to loop the string in), suede cord, scissors, craft glue, and some cool patterned natural coloured feathers.
Step one:
Cut a piece of your suede cord, measuring it to your hair length. Cut it a bit longer than you want because some of the top part will dissapear into your hair.
Step two:
Thread your cord through the clip like the first picture. Then fold it around the clip and glue the two sides, like the second picture. The craft glue should be strong enough to hold it. Wait for it to dry before you move onto the next step.
Step three:
Thread the beads onto the cord and place them where you would like them to be on the cord. Remember where they go (you can mark this with pen, if you want) and put a small spot of glue on the place where the bead goes. Then press one side of the bead to the glue, leaving a small gap on the opposite side. Repeat this with your other beads.
Step four:
Lastly, you can add feathers. If you have quite small feathers then you can glue a clump together to make them look bigger. Put a small spot of glue on the end of the feather and place it into the gap that was left in the bead. Repeat with each of the other beads, arranging them in any way you like.
And then you're finished! Hope they all turn out great for you. They are super stylish right now and go great with any hair colour.

So I thought I should practice making dresses before I started on the real thing, so I dug out some old curtain fabric and used that.
Sorry that the photo is big. Picnik is down so I can't resize it.

On the dress I also tried some pleating on the front of the dress -
And a bow to finish the dress.

Sorry, yesterday I forgot to post a picture if the dress form that came (also with a tape measure):
Okay, so anyway- I have made my first sketch.
In the instructions it came with an example dress that would help beginners. I didn't want to go completely by that - so I created a shorter, strapless version of it. I also moved the jewels to the columns at the top of the dress, instead of having them sweeping across.
The fabric is going to be pink (that's what came in the pack!). When I have finished that fabric, I will probably have to go out and buy some more fabric and ribbon and sequins etc. because otherwise I will have nothing to make a dress out of!
Also, the belt is going to be made out of white ribbon that I will cut to this shape. Otherwise i think the dress would look a bit odd. I spent many hours trying to think of this whilst watching New Moon! Very good thinking film.. or whatever you want to call it.
Next time I make a sketch, I will do it in colour, but right now I have no coloured pencils so I'm just gonna have to go and buy some!

Please feel free to tell me any suggestions or comments or whatever!
